Community College Ag Programs Could See $20 Million in New Funds
While staffing challenges persist, there is good news for the future of the farming industry in the form of significant growth in enrollment in agriculture and related science majors at national two-year institutions. In order to facilitate the development of the next generation of our nation’s farmers, six U.S. Senators have introduced the Community College Ag Advancement Act, which would fund educational programming at community colleges.
The proposed act, which would be part of the forthcoming farm bill, would mean a significant boost in the resources and experiential training that community colleges could provide to students pursuing these fields.
